Anyone starting IVF/ICSI in Sims soon?

Hi girls, I hope you don't mind me hopping on here...

We will more than likely be starting an ivf cycle with Sims soon. I'm researching things at the moment and looking at prices etc. Just wondering if anyone knows if a natural ivf cycle with them is cheaper? I can't see anything about it on their site. I have a phone consultation with Dr. Lyuda on Monday, but I'd like to know before then, if anyone has any answers. Thanks a mill!

hey reine im not sure what a natural ivf cycle is but it sounds interesting, we had our frst app there yest and i was bowled over by how nice every one was, there is a bit more traffic on the ivf/iui thread so maybe try asking there 2. :babydust:

Reine,

We had our first consultation with Dr. O in January and are starting our IVF cycle in April. What do you mean by natural cycle?

If you have a lot of the ground work done, it will be a quicker process. We had been to another clinic so had a lot of tests covered but still had to have a few more done. My AMH came back very low at 1.7, I am positive for anti-nuclear antibodies and have also had other immune bloods done and am currently waiting on results from the Natural Killer Cell blood test.

I will be on a microflare protocol and will start taking the pill next month. When doing IVF I will also have to have intralipd infusion due to immune issues.

They are so nice up there and I wish we had gone to them in the first place as we've been through the mill with everything, had 2 miscarraiges plus confliciting information....aargh....

Best of luck and hope all is well. I am completely new to this too as are a few other gals on here so we will all be in good company with each other and hopefully can be of good advice to one another.

Thanks Lizzie. Yeah, it's great to be able to chat! So much involved in this process.

The natural ivf process doesn't involve many drugs at all. It involves more scans and closer monitoring, but to be honest, I don't know that much about it yet either. Have a phone cons with Dr L on Monday, so will ask her about it then.

We both have issues. My amh is 12 and I have one blocked tube. Dh has low sperm, motility and morphology, so we've been told that icsi is the best route for us. We are hoping to start it (or the natural ivf, not sure yet) in June.

How are you feeling about the ivf? What does your protocol involve?

hey reine, i wont find out what my protocol is till i get the results of my amh test and chicargo bloods, i have crohns which is an auto immune disease, funny thing is ive been on humira now 2 years and thats one of the drugs they use if they need to. im also having an sis beginning of march, and dh has a few bloods to get done and another sa,my issues are blocked tubes and the crohns thankfully dh fine, he nearly died when brid the nurse told him only 4 cups of coffee a week, he has switched to the chai tea and is loving it!!!! hopefully starting in april!!! :o)ll

Hi Reine,

Starting in April but start taking the pill in about 2 weeks time. I take the pill for 28 days, then have a 2 day break, up to SIMS for the scan where they will check womb lining and for cysts, etc.

I will then start stimulation (I don't know what this will involve as yet). I also have to have two intralipid infusions 2 weeks apart and a third if I get my bfp. The infusions are due to my immune issues but are not part of a 'regular' IVF treatment.

I am scheduled for Egg Collection around 18/20 April and will have a 3 Day Transfer.

It all seems very straightforward and they are fab in SIMS for explaining everything and making you feel at ease.

Oh girls, I really hope this is your time. I really do. April is not far away at all now Lizzie. You won't feel it!

Jewel... It takes about 3 weeks for the amh results to come back. Hopefully they'll give you a better idea of the situation. So terrible that you have to suffer with Crohn's. I'd say it's a real struggle at times.

hi ladies. hope you don't mind me joining you. I had egg retrieval on April 28th in sims and embryo transfer on May 1st. Am on the 2WW, and trying to keep my thoughts and hopes in check. am trying not to imagine that my 2 embryos have declared war and wondering if any will live...;)
