What time do you put on wedding dress?

Im the first to get married in my family and I keep thinking of the morning of the wedding as I dont know what to expect and just hope it will all go to plan....
Ceremony is at 1 so roughly what time would I need to put on dress and accessories?

Hoping you married wollies can give me advice..

Well I'm getting married at 2 and I've made out my time list starting at 8.30 in the morning when I get my hair done, then my bridesmaids hair (short so won't take long!), home, a bite to eat, make up at 10, then my 4 bridesmaids get theirs done hoping a half hour for each will be enough which brings us to about 1 O'Clock when I'll be ready in my dress but want to take some pics at home and just chill abit before leaving for the church. I don't want to be putting my dress on at the last minute but everyones different. In my case I want to the first to have my hair and makeup done as I'd be a bundle of nerves waiting around!Thats the plan so I hope it works out the way I want!

I got married at 13:30 so put my dress on at 12 as the photographer wanted to get some pic's in the house, he will prob give you a time you've to be ready for photo's at

We got married at 1pm and the make up and hairdresser came to the house for 9am and we had our brekkie eaten at that point. LOVED the morning of the wedding. Its brilliant!!!!

Got into my dress between half 11 and 12 I think. It take a little bit to get into it so give time for that but also I was glad I didnt get into it too soon either.

Dont worry about it too much because it will all fall into place and your hair and make up artist will know the drill and tell you what time to do things! Also the photographer will basically be the one who decides when you should be in your dress for photos and stuff. Make sure the BMs are well ready though before you get ready as one of mine went off doing her own thing and missed alot of the photos. That was the only thing that added stress! She took AGES putting on her dress!

It really is an amazing morning though. You cant imagine how great you will feel.

i put my dress on around 1pm was getting married at 2 we left the house at 1.40 that was putting it on in plenty of time. once i was ready i just wanted to leave the house so dont put it on to early. enjoy every minute.

I put it on at the very end as i didn't want to get it stained or messed. About a half an hour before we left to get married.

I got married at 1 and went up to get dressed at 12.20pm. Took about 15mins tp put on the dress, shoes and jewellery then back downstairs for a glass of champagne!

Same here, as soon as the dress went on I was all "let's go, let's goooooo!" because I was dying to show my beautiful self off to OH :o0

I would say that it depends on your dress though, mine was very simple to get into, only took one zip and a handful of buttons. If you have a complex dress with a load of buttons or some major lacing-up to do give yourself a bit more time.
