Wedding Cake??

just want to put the feelers out on this one, what do you think of a big sponge cake rather than a traditional wedding cake?

I think there are so many options for Wedding cake out there now that a "traditional" cake is actually not the norm! I'm having the trad iced cake simply because my aunt is making it as a gift for us and thats the kind of cake she makes. I think a sponge would be lovely- if it's something you like to eat and like the look of then why not?!

Depends what you mean by a 'big sponge cake'. Do you mean a big flat slab of cake with buttercream or something? There are so many options for wedding cakes these days that a traditional 3 tier fruit cake is the exception. Even cakes that look like they might be traditional have different flavours in them but are just iced to look the same.

If you have no interest in the symbolic cutting of the cake photo or a cake in general then I would save the money and spend it on something you would prefer to have.

No I dont really like sponge cake there are sooo many nicer ones.. CBC, coffee, orange & poppyseed..yum!!
