Hi

I am getting married July 2013, just wonderin if there are any other July 2013 brides that might want to chat about venues, dress etc, might be nice to compare what is organised and what you plan to organise in the next few months

Im getting married in my local church in Sandyford and them off to The Anglers Rest. I wanted something a little different to a hotel as I work in events and spend my life in hotels for work didnt want it to feel just like another day at work on my wedding day.

I only rang last week to register and the earliest appointment they could give my was october so I would say ring sooner rather than later at least its ticked off the list then and there are a couple of bits you might need to gather for the appointment!

I'm getting married in Rosedale House in Shankill, both the ceremomy and reception will be in the same place. Also wanted something a little different, I :lvs it! Very excited to finally have it booked! We looked in to the Anglers rest too, its a gorgeous venue! Shankill was closer to home for us though.
We're getting married on a Saturday so we've booked Tom Colton to do the ceremony, haven't actually registered yet though so must get on to that. I didn't realise you'd have such a long wait for an appontment.

Wow sarahme1, you must be delighted to already have your dress sorted?! That's the last big thing on my list now (photography and music is being looked after by my bro and CB). I'm so nervous about going dress shopping. :action34 Not the best shopper at the best of times but feel I'll be under pressure to find 'the one'. Did you find it stressful?

So are you guys well into the swing of planning or will you be leaving most of that until next year?

Hi Loufar

Yes I am delighted to have found my dress, it was a bit stressful, I went into one place and the girl did not listen to me at all and just kept bringing in different dresses, I had said that i wanted something a bit blingy and she kept brining in plain dresses, I must have tried on over 20 dresses, it was over whelming

the following week I went into the city centre and went to one shop, the girl set down with me and talked about what styles I was thinking of, I had an open mind, I tried on about 6 dresses and the 4th one was the one I picked, so happy,

its great excitement aroudn the wedding and its great to talk to people that are getting married around the same time :)

I'm a July 19 2013 Bride. So far I've church, venue, photographer, videographer, band and reception entertainment, and half of the church ceremony organised (People keep slagging me that I'm super organised, but now seeing some of you have more or less the same booked I feel a bit more "sane")!!
We're getting married in Longford, and have my reception in Lough Rynn
We also put in our intention to marry thingy, and got an appointment for December - so ya, I'd advise doing this sooner rather than later...

...not sure what's next...maybe dress hunting?!

Agree that it is great to share the excitement!!!

Wow, ye are all very organised! I've just the hotel and photographer booked. The Carlton Hotel Kinsale and John Sexton Photographer. I must get cracking on other things! I'm not thinking of having an outdoor ceremony, so I need to look into that!

hi excitedbride2013 I am getting married the 19th of July too!!

I just want to get as much organised so that I can mark it off the list :)

I will definetly look into organsing the intention to marry, I am not sure of my priests name as I am not getting married in my parish and a family friend may be doing the ceremony but if not it will be the parish priest, do I need this info for the intent to marry??

sydneyb2b, I thought i was too early to book anything but everyone keeps saying to me that the time will fly in, the more your organise the less hassle you will have coming up to the wedding(well that is what i am hoping)

Hi! Nope, we didn't have to give the name of our priest so you should be fine! I'm not from Dublin, but we're working/living up here, so put in our intention to marry here...so that may be why the wait was so long (Dublin) - maybe t'wont be so bad in Kerry.

I'm trying to stick to the one thing a month rule, that way the stress won't build up, and the money side of it won't be too painful!!! Dying to go dress shopping now though. Have lost around 1 1/2 stone in the past 3 months in advance of the dress shopping :o)ll
