Weight loss and motivation tips and some weekly weigh ins?

Am going to give slimming world a go - just to keep an eye on things - is it worth the money for that though? I know it's been asked before but how much is it for beginners, do you have to have a certain amount to lose - is it free when you hit target? Class near me is tomorrow.

Well Done ClaireT on your 2.5 stone - that's some achievement.

Hey it took me 6 months to get the 2.5 stone off and for the last 4 months i have been hoovering around the same weight so i decided that for now i am happy where i am at 10st 6 but towards the end of the year or start of next year i will try and sheed a few pounds just before the wedding :)

Really would recommend SW for anyone who loves food lol

Thank you :) i used to do it years ago when i lived in scotland and lost 4 stone but when i moved here and had baby i put almost 3 back on but then SW started in Ireland :o)ll

I go everyweek for free now just to keep an eye on my weight as once your at your target that you decide yourself then you don't have to pay as long as you stay within 3lbs either over or under your target weight. The fee i think is 18 euro to join then 9 euro per week. I lost the weight with no excersice but i have recently taken up kettlebells to try and tone up.
I would go along and listen, new people don't pay till the end of the class once you've heard all about it and are happy :)

Hello girls!

I'm so afraid to weigh today, I did the dog completely over the weekend. Eating and drinking like the lads on Man Vs Food and its my hen this weekend so it'll be more of the same :o(

After that there is a week or 2 of nothing so i can be good!
Going to try and ramp up the exercise this week though (i.e. do it every day!) Just back from pilates and feel good and had a good day food wise so i need to stay on the wagon.
I go to SW too but have been so slow with the losses. Weekends kill me. I'm not nearly disciplined enough and think I might skip WI tomorrow.
Heaps of water today though so i'll do that through the week!
Well done all of ye that have lost loads already!

Definitely try Dr Ava's Orsmond Clinic (Operation Transformation)-started Feb 2nd of this year and have lost 3 and half stone!

In all honesty it hasn't been that hard to follow programme as you get brilliant results every week!

Wow - that is brilliant Scaulfield! I heard she is a magician with the weight loss!

Just bought the jillian michales dvd - hopefully it helps get rid of my bingo wings and belly! Am 11st 5 lds and am 5 5 in height. So I want to get to 9 and a half stone. I recently started trx and I can't recommend it enough - i can barely walk for 2 days after it!

I'm doing some TRX along with kettlebell classes, can't move my shoulder today!
Which Jillian DVD did you get?
She kicks your ass but it gets easier, you just need to stick with it. Just a warning, do extra quad stretches in the cool down as your legs will be in bits (assuming it's 30 Day Shred you are doing).
You are the same height and weight as me, with same target!

Oh Sarah1979! so sorry to hear that! it's so maddening to be getting into a stride and then get injured! hope you heal up soon enough.

When (enphaisis on when) i was running as few months ago, i injured my ankle and could barely walk! Think i was running funny. Anyway, i stopped running and haven't picked it up again. hoping to go out this week at least once to try and get back into it.

So, i got weighed and measured last night, was actually 13stone6(eek!!!) so that's what i'm working down from now!
Hens in mid June, so want to get down at the very least under 13.

Keep up the good work girls! x

ETA: I did lose 4 inches overall in my measurements tho!

Hey ladies, this is a great idea for a thread!

I have lost all motivation....tis sad.....and then I feel sorry for myself and then eat lol

I've been going to weight watchers for the last 2 months and have been losing the weight (very slowly)

Last week I was 1.5 pounds away from hitting the stone mark and I had my weigh in today and put on 2.5 pounds!!!!!!! It's just insane!! I had a bad weekend as I was away but...2.5 pounds is lots to be up in one week. So my motivation has def sunk to an all time low :(
To make matters worse, I have a friend's hen party at the weekend!!

I walk everyday and going to 2 classes in the gym (boxercise and fitness camp). I need to exercise more though.

Plus, I am a very picky/plain eater...I don't even eat potatoes and the only veg and fruit I eat is raw carrots and green apples. I live on pasta and rice and have made the switch awhile ago to whole grain. My issue is trying to find things to eat for breakfast and lunch. Any ideas?

Good luck to those who have their weigh in's this week and well done to those who have lost weight!!!

hey pooch!

Yes I got the 30 day shred. It arrives tomorrow so will give it a go after I've recovered from trx tomorrow! i've been walking the last 2 weeks but its just not doing enough! If things come to a head in the summer I'm getting a personal trainer - don't care!!! It'll be worth it. Once I get to the 11stone mark I'm hoping it'll keep me going with the motivation to keep going and get to the 10. I'll be happy to keep at that till the end of the year and do the final push after Christmas! When is your wedding pooch?

I need some motivation! I joined WW last week, had my first weigh in this morning, and lost half a pound... the only positive is I didn't gain a half a pound.. but I still don't feel good about it. I had been good all week, except myself and the OH's anniversary was at the weekend, so we celebrated with a lavish meal out, and ended up for random cocktails(lots of them!) afterward! So I'm blaming this! :-8 By next Tuesday, I want to be down at least 3 pounds, any motivational tips?
